MUSK OXEN AND RULING THE WORLD

Forgot to say this but I am very glad NPR did a piece on Einstein this morning because, if I had walked into work armed only with the knowledge that our idiot senators voted to allow oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and did so in a way that prevents a filibuster AND created legislation specifically to prevent one man in Florida whose wife has been in a prolonged vegetative state to pull her food tube and put her out of her misery—after the legal system cleared the way for him to do so—and that Wolfowitz will now rule the fucking world ... well, if I had five more minutes to think about Alaska and the further marginalized native tribes and just how much fragile wildlife and wildflowers those Halliburton trucks will destroy, I probably would have turned around and gone back home to watch Siberiade and Whale Rider and mourn.

Today's online New York Times has an amazing interactive slideshow about the Refuge. Better look at it while you can.

Fuckers.
